NYLON

November 2017 - August 2018

As NYLON’s video producer, I was responsible for all editorial and branded video creation. On any given day, I was somewhere in New York or Los Angeles crunching numbers, planning shoots, interviewing talent, or hauling 80 pounds of gear into back-alley freight elevators. The majority of my time was spent on set, running small to large-scale productions with insanely talented but nimble crews and some of the brightest stars on earth.

A core part of my job was financial; I was solely responsible for the editorial video budget and became incredibly savvy negotiating win-win situations for crew/vendors and the publication.

Digital Covers

During my time at NYLON, I produced and directed all of our digital covers. We always featured talent with strong, progressive voices in creative and compelling ways. I joined the publication right after we went digital and was able to play a role in how we brought stories to life through this format. Each cover was full of both photo and video content, and we realized each unique vision with some of the most talented people in the industry in New York and Los Angeles.

Ray-Ban

Ray-Ban approached NYON to run a digital ad campaign across our web and social properties. We worked with four influential female artists on a multi-media campaign that showed each working and, of course, wearing Ray-Bans. I produced and managed the shoots which took place over the course of three shoot days in New York and L.A.  Directed by MJ Lat. Photos by Lindsey Byrnes.

Bloomingdales came to NYLON to produce a campaign that highlighted their summer capsule collections. We worked with three influencers and created incredible videos of each running around New York. Through careful cutting, we were able to show outfit changes seamlessly. Directed by Rowena True.

Editorial Videos

This role gave me access to some of the most interesting, compelling humans who are defining current culture in the worlds of fashion, music, film, politics, human rights, and beyond. Each week, we published 4-5 videos, bringing diverse stories to our audience on NYLON.com and our social channels. I produced each shoot and frequently directed these videos.

Polaroid

Polaroid was releasing a new digital-enabled product that connected the physical camera to a user’s phone where they could edit the photos. They came to us to run a campaign to drive awareness among NYLON readers. We found an incredible photographer and cast beautiful talent to show off these capabilities. Photos by Ashley Armitage.
